Michael William Harrison is a folksinger of American, Irish, Scottish and Canadian folksongs
with a slight list to starboard - or is that port - well, songs about the sea, then. Most of
the songs he sings range from the 1800's to the 1970's - with some that are a couple of hundred
years old and some that are virtually brand new. Michael can be found performing at pubs,
festivals, coffeehouses and house concerts from Dallas/Ft. Worth across Texas and the U.S.
where he is equally at home singing for children, a rowdy pub group, a corporate luncheon, a
senior's group, or hosting a good-time sing-a-long right in your living room with you and your
guests.
Michael enjoys singing songs that come with stories and tales dealing with the history of the song, the artist, or - history itself. Michael William Harrison has a solo CD, "First Time 'Round" and a joint project (with Linda King) titled, "For Kids Of All Ages." Both are available at www.CDBaby.com.
Along with Celtic tunes Michael can mix-it-up from a collection pulled from such artists as: Beatles, Buddy Holly, Kingston Trio, Van Morrison…and a few of his own songs as well.
Tom Knapp of Rambles Magazine wrote, "Michael William Harrison is the sort of authentic folk artist who keeps the genre alive and kicking. This is the core of folk music, just a singer and his music. If we don't keep musicians like Michael William Harrison sitting on their stools and strumming their guitars, all the big band projects around won't keep folk music alive."
