Our primary purpose, as with any labor union, is to represent our members in their
workplace. We do this by helping them obtain contracts, e.g.
collective bargaining agreements, administering those contracts, and by setting
area wage scale standards. In addition all members of Local 72-147 receive the
AFM's monthly publication, The International Musician and
our quarterly publication, The Dallas-Fort Worth Musician
to keep them on top of events in the area.
AFM members can benefit from our Musicians
Federal Credit Union and all members in good standing are encouraged to join
the credit union and take advantage of above-market dividends on savings and
low-rate loans on cars, instruments, equipment, etc., with approved credit.
