Ken was appointed President on May 2, 2011. The Local 72-147 Executive Board unanimously appointed him to serve out the term of longtime President Ray Hair, upon his recent resignation. He had previously served the local as Secretary-Treasurer since 1998, and was Assistant to the President beginning in 1992, working primarily in the area that pertains to symphonic musicians. Ken is also the Principal Clarinetist of the Dallas Opera Orchestra, and performs freelance work throughout DFW. He holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in Music, respectively, from the University of North Texas and Northwestern University. kkrause@musiciansdfw.org

Stewart was appointed as Secretary-Treasurer in May, 2011 to serve the balance of Ken Krause’s term after his appointment as Local 72-147 president. Stewart worked the previous year as the Assistant to the Secretary-Treasurer and was a two term Executive Board member. In addition to his work with the Local, Stewart is an oboist and English hornist with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, and a busy freelance performer. Mike began working full time in the office with the creation of AFM Entertainment in 1994. He spends the better part of each day on the telephone talking with prospective clients, setting up gigs for musicians and acting as an organizer of casual/club date musicians. Christy Price, a New Orleans native who worked at the New Orleans Local 174-496 for seven years, started with us in April, 2004. Christy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from the American Public University. Usually, hers is the first voice you hear when you call the office.
